3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary
These cookies are required for the service to work and cannot be switched off.
- Authentication (Supabase): Session cookies with names starting with "sb-" keep you signed in and refresh your session securely. They are shared between overvisual.com and www.overvisual.com.
- Language (NEXT_LOCALE): Remembers the language you chose for up to 1 year.
- Payments (Stripe): Stripe sets cookies during checkout and in the billing portal for fraud prevention and to complete your payment.
3.2 Analytics and Performance
These cookies help us understand how people use Overvisual and where it breaks.
- PostHog: Product analytics such as pages viewed, features used, and the steps of the onboarding flow. PostHog may also record sessions so we can see how the interface is used. Text you type into form fields is masked in recordings. After you sign in, PostHog links this activity to your account so we can help you with support requests.
- Google Analytics: Aggregated traffic statistics such as visits, traffic sources, and pages viewed. Google Analytics cookies such as "_ga" last up to 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity: Heatmaps and session replays that show how visitors scroll and click on our public pages. Clarity cookies such as "_clck" and "_clsk" last up to 1 year.
- Sentry: Error monitoring. When something fails in your browser, Sentry receives the error, technical details about your device, and a replay of the moments before the error. Nothing is recorded while the app is working normally.
3.3 Marketing and Attribution
These cookies measure whether our advertising works and credit partners who refer customers to us.
- Meta Pixel: Measures conversions from Facebook and Instagram ads using the "_fbp" and "_fbc" cookies, which last up to 90 days. If you arrive from a Meta ad, we also keep the click identifier in local storage for 7 days. Key events such as creating an account or starting a plan are sent to Meta from our servers as well, together with a hashed version of your email address.
- Omnisend: Our email marketing tool. It records page views and, if you subscribed to our emails, connects your visits with your subscriber profile.
- Rewardful: Our partner program. If you arrive through a partner link, a cookie remembers who referred you so the partner can be credited when you subscribe.
- Free tools: If you use one of our free tools before signing up, we keep the name of that tool in local storage for 7 days so we know which tool brought you to Overvisual.

- Browser settings: Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either for all sites or for overvisual.com only. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and may stop parts of the app from working.
- Google Analytics: Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Meta: Adjust your Facebook ad settings.
- Omnisend emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any of our marketing emails.
- Questions: Email info@overvisual.com and we will help you remove tracking data linked to your account.
6. How Long Cookies Last
- Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: Stay until they expire or you delete them. The longest we use last 2 years.
- Local storage: Stays until you clear your browser data. Our own attribution entries expire after 7 days.
7. Updates to This Policy
We update this policy when we add or remove tools, or when the law requires it. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes are announced on our website.
